2018 Lighted Christmas Boat Parade

The first annual Lighted Christmas Boat Parade in La Paz was the product of a joint effort by Turismo La Paz, Marina de La Paz, Marina Palmira, and Club Cruceros. And what a huge success it was. The thousands of families lining the Malecon was a larger crowd than for Carnaval. In fact, the turn out even surprised the organizers. The 35 beautifully decorated boats and the fireworks did not disappoint. Many thanks to Jimmy "Sea Otter" Loberg for taking on the huge task of organizing the fleet. Jimmy says it was so successful that the City of La Paz is making it an annual event.

The City of La Paz awarded prizes and certificates to the Christmas Lighted Boat Parade
participants on February 13 in the Vista Room. Awards went to the following boats:

LARGE BOATS
Most Lit Up: Ocean Quest won a TV and a $50 Lopez Marine gift certificate
Most Esthetic: Jersey Girl won a round of golf and a whale shark tour
Most Creative: Le Le Le won a round of golf and mag

SMALL BOATS
Most Lit Up: Tres Manas won a TV and a $25 gift certificate
Most Esthetic: Coral won a round of golf and a Dock Café gift certificate
Most Creative: Sea Hawk won a round of golf and a whale shark tour

Oceanquest Video

This video is of the M/V Oceanquest. Bill and Reyna spent four days decorating
their boat and invited 29 others on board to share in their Christmas spirit.
One guest was the Assistant Secretary of Tourism.
She reported that the Mayor said their boat was excellent!
