An Informative First Aid for Pets Seminar
Cruising veterinarian Dr. Sheddy, AKA Sheddy Chuffed, presented an informative program, First Aid for Cruising Pets on March 27 in the Vista Room. Dr. Sheddy operates the world’s only sailing veterinary clinic and has been providing free care to animals in need from onboard SV Chuffed, treating more than 2000 animals since 2017. Her adventures have taken her throughout Central America and Pacific Mexico, working with a range of animals including dogs, cats, monkeys, sloths, and sea turtles.
Vet Tails Sailing Chuffed is committed to improving the lives of animals all over the world through animal care and education. They work with local communities, wildlife sanctuaries, animal shelters and veterinary clinics to improve the standards of animal health and welfare. They believe that the only way to truly make lasting change is through educating the local people and providing them with the necessary tools to continue doing great work long after SV Chuffed is gone.
After visiting La Paz, Dr. Sheddy will be sailing her way into the Sea of Cortez, to visit more communities and their animals in need of veterinary care.
